Spend the day sightseeing in Mysore, including visits to the Sultan’s Palace, flower and vegetable markets, Chamundi Hill temple, and exploring the interesting markets of the city. Overnight in Mysore.
Day 3 : Nagarhole
Nagarhole is considered the best place in South India to see wildlife, so we recommend spending two nights here with a total of 4 safaris. Both vehicle and boat safaris are available, giving you a great chance of seeing a wide array of animals, including elephants, tigers, leopards, sloth bears, countless bird species, crocodiles, langur monkeys, and many more. There is a great range of accommodation around Kabini, including tented camps or forest lodges. Overnight at Kabini.
Day 4 : Nagarhole to Coorg
After a final safari at dawn and breakfast at your camp, depart and drive to the lushly forested Coorg region, a major coffee-growing region. Overnight in Coorg.

You will have two full days to explore Mysore's major highlights, including the Sultan's Palace, Chamundi Hill temples, and the famous fruit, flower, and vegetable market. You can also take two half-day excursions to Srirangapatnam, a strategic stronghold of Tipu Sultan, and Somnathpur, a Hoysala dynasty temple complex. Day 3 : Mysore to Hassan via Shravanabelagola, Belur, and Halebid
In the morning, you will drive to Shravanabelagola, one of the oldest Jain pilgrimage sites in India. Its chief attraction is the 17-meter-tall monolithic statue of Lord Gomateshwara, also known as Bahubali. Later, you will proceed to Hassan and visit the Belur and Halebid temples in the afternoon. Day 4 : Hassan to Hospet
You will have a full-day drive to Hampi, an archaeological site. Accommodation in Hampi is limited, so most visitors choose to stay in nearby Hospet or Anegundi, a village on the opposite bank of the river to Hampi. Overnight in Hospet.
Day 5 : Hospet to Hampi to Hospet
Hampi was the capital of much of South India during the Vijayanagar Empire in the 15th century. Today, it is a sleepy town with a central bazaar and numerous archaeological sites, including temples, wells, palaces, rock-cut temples, bazaars, and elephant stables. It is best to explore this vast area over at least two days, engaging a guide for the first day and then exploring on your own by bicycle or on foot to take in more remote parts of Hampi. Day 6 : Hospet to Badami via Aihole and Pattadakal
Today, you will drive north to Badami, stopping at Aihole and Pattadakal en route. Aihole has over 100 temples, most of which are Hindu, but there are also Buddhist and Jain temples dating from the 4th to the 12th century CE. Pattadakal is slightly more compact, with more refined temples. A guide can help you explore these ancient sites over a few hours, but if you have more time, it is worth spending more time here. Overnight in Badami.
Day 7 : Badami
In the morning, visit the cave temples of Badami, consisting of four ancient rock-cut caves with carved pillars and bracket figures. Three of the temples are Brahmanical, while the fourth one is a Jain cave. The third cave temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, stands out for its size and sculptural elegance. Later, visit Badami fort, which is led by an uneven steep and winding flight of steps between caves 2 and 3. You can also visit the 5th-century Agasthya Tirtha Lake and Bhoothanatha and Malegitti temples. Overnight in Badami.
Day 8 : Badami to Hubli Departure
In the morning, after breakfast, you will start your drive to Hubli airport which takes around 2 hours. From here, you can catch a flight to Mumbai, Chennai or Bangalore for further travel or to catch an international flight back home. Your driver will drop you off at the airport in time for your flight.

Day 2 : Mysore
Start your day by visiting the intricately carved Hoysala-dynasty temple at Somnathpur, dating back to the 12th century CE. After that, proceed for a half-day sightseeing tour of Mysore city. Mysore is undoubtedly one of the most interesting cities in South India, and some of the highlights of the tour include the Mysore Palace, Chamundi Hill with its vibrant temple, and the famous Devaraja fruit and vegetable markets. Overnight stay in Mysore.
Day 3 : Mysore - Coorg
After breakfast, drive to Coorg, a lushly forested region in the hills of southern Karnataka. En route, stop at Bylakuppe, the second largest Tibetan settlement, and visit the wonderful monastery. You can interact with monks of all ages found throughout the city. Then, resume your drive to Coorg and check into your hotel. In the afternoon, visit a plantation to see coffee, pepper, cardamom, and other crops being grown. Overnight stay in Coorg.
Day 4 : Coorg - Tala Kaveri - Coorg
On this day, embark on a day excursion to the source of the Mighty River Cauvery, called Tala Kaveri, the holiest in South India. The exact location where the River originates is marked by a small temple, frequented by tourists and devotees. Enjoy the scenic surroundings at TalaKaveri before returning to your hotel for an overnight stay. Overnight stay in Coorg.
Day 5 : Coorg - Nagarhole
After breakfast, depart Coorg and drive to Kabini, on the fringes of Nagarhole National Park. Check into your lodge or tented camp upon arrival and relax for a while. Later in the afternoon, take your first safari into the park. Overnight stay at Kabini/Nagarhole.
Day 6 : Nagarhole
Embark on morning and afternoon safaris into Nagarhole National Park. We recommend a combination of vehicle and boat safaris, with the latter taking place on Kabini Lake and offering a great chance to see herds of elephants as they come to the water’s edge to drink. Vehicle safaris take you deep into the forest.
Nagarhole NP is part of the huge Nilgiri Biosphere, the largest area of protected habitat in southern India, which comprises National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries in all three southern states- Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. The Biosphere supports populations of most of India’s iconic species, such as tigers, leopards, sloth bears, elephants, a wide array of antelope and deer species, and countless smaller mammals and birds.
